During his first few weeks in Honiara, Dr Lane walked around the town and met many warm and friendly Solomon Islanders.

“I had never met people who were so interested in me, my family and my work as a chiropractor. Their warmth and hospitality were unlike anything I had experienced before. I quickly developed a deep love and respect for them, and the Solomon Islands began to feel like my second home.”

People began visiting his home for chiropractic adjustments on the kitchen table. One evening the line stretched from his front door down the street. It was clear that he needed a proper clinic.

He then opened Lane Chiropractic White River. The clinic quickly outgrew its space, so he moved it to Lengakiki. The new location allowed him to serve people travelling from across the islands, and often by local truckload.

Dr Lane now lives in Western Australia. He continues to serve the people of the Solomon Islands by running a clinic there every four months.
